At 13 years old Herb O'Brien offered me a job at HO Sports. That summer I worked for a new slalom ski and kneeboard, I haven't wanted to work in any other business since. After 20 years of experience in the watersports industry I'm starting my own boat dealership and couldn't be more excited!! I truly love getting people on the water and having fun with their family and friends.

I was born in Houston, Texas and have been all over the U.S. and did a stint in Canada. I joined the team here in early 2017 and couldn't be happier working with a crew and customers passionate about boats. I ran a wakeboard/surf school in Miami before moving this way, and that job took me all over the world coaching and meeting kindred spirits. I worked at a slalom school before that; so if it's behind the boat I love it and can teach it! I've been playing with towboats since I was 12, and want to do it until I'm 112.

Originally from Portland, Joan has been working with the MasterCraft brand since 2016 and is excited to continue that journey with Northwest Inboards, the brand’s new home for 2026.
Her background is rooted in a long history with the Pacific Northwest watersports community. For over a decade Joan was a familiar face at local events, where she balanced hosting wakesurf, wakeboard, and ski competitions with competing herself. During those years, she consistently placed in the top two for the Oregon and Washington’s women's wake divisions in the INT League, Wet Wednesdays and AWS circuits.
Joan first fell in love with watersports at the age of 14 while waterskiing with her family. Having spent most of her life embracing the boating lifestyle, she appreciates the value of time spent together on the water and the connections it fosters. For Joan, the most rewarding part of the industry is helping families find the right boat so they can create their own lifelong memories on the water.
