Our Story: From a Summer Job to a Lifelong Dream

The roots of our business go back much further than our founding. For owner Darren Lamont, the water has always been home. Born and raised in the Issaquah and Lake Sammamish area, Darren began his career in the industry with a simple goal.

"At 13 years old, the legendary Herb O'Brien offered me a job at HO Sports. That summer, I worked specifically to earn a new slalom ski and kneeboard," Darren recalls. "From that moment on, I never wanted to work in any other business, and wanted to share my love of the water with others." 

That young ambition turned into a lifelong career. After gaining over 20 years of experience in the watersports industry, Darren followed his dream and founded Northwest Inboards in 2014. Today, with over 30 years of expertise and a team passionate about the water, the mission remains the same: sharing the joy of the water with our neighbors and friends.
